What do I need to know before I send you seed?
Please contact us before sending any seed, so that we can be sure to handle them promptly and store them in a way that will not ruin the seed.

Do not send seed wrapped in plastic. All plant material should be put into a paper envelope within the package being sent.

What communication can I expect on my order?
We will send an initial intake communication, which will include login instructions to the customer portal. In the portal will be various tools you can use to track your order and the plant development. For any questions, you are welcome to reach out.

How long does the process take to get flasks back?
It depends on genera of the parents, some varieties like oncidinii can be as fast as 10 months, but timelines can vary.

How many plants are in each flask?
We do our best to ship 25 or more plants per flask, but there are no guarantees of quantity per flask.

Flask Sales

I don’t want to pay for flasks if they won’t be shipped right away. Can you help?
We will take pre-orders for flasks if you email orders@standardorchid.com. However, we operate on a first-come-first-serve basis, if customers make a payment on the same product and we run out of inventory, your order may either be delayed or cancelled.


I’ve pre-purchased or pre-ordered flasks. When can I expect them to be shipped?
Check the product page for the flask you’ve pre-ordered, we try to keep timelines up to date. If you’ve reserved (but not yet paid-for) a flask that has disappeared from the website, chances are its been sold-out. You can contact us at orders@standardorchid.com to get a timeline (if we haven’t supplied one already).
