Odontoglossums, Mitoniopsis and Other Oncidiinae

The Oncidiinae is a Neotropical group of orchids with many genera and nearly a thousand species. We focus on hybrids from the cooler growing genera of Odontoglossum, Cochlioda and Miltoniopsis. These plants produce large showy sprays of flowers in many eye-catching colors. The culture for these plants varies depending on the background. However, most of them prefer even moisture and medium light levels. Those with thicker roots tend to prefer a freer draining media in which to grow.
